5 Keys To A Successful Website

By AgentMethods

How many times have you heard that people don't read websites? Well, if they don't read websites, what do you think visitors are doing on your site?

So, think again and take a few minutes to review the content on your website or when creating new copy.

  1. The topic addresses your target reader's needs and questions.
    • The first question you need to ask is, "whom am I writing this for?" It's going to be hard to write a piece of valuable content if you don't know who you're writing for because it's hard to know what questions they need answered. Once you figure that out, it becomes much easier to create your web content.
    • Hint: Think about the type of questions prospective customers ask about your services in relation to their insurance needs.

  2. Is the copy at a level that the readers will understand the subject matter?
    • Keep in mind your reader's level of understanding. After all, content that's either too basic or goes right over their head, doesn't offer much value.

  3. Is the copy clear and accessible?
    • Read through the copy to make sure it's as clear as possible. Make it easy to understand, and don't leave anybody out by speaking in more complicated terms than is absolutely necessary. Remember, you're the expert but you don't need to show off.

  4. Is the copy specific enough?
    • Part of writing clearly is writing exactly what you mean, and avoiding broad, general statements. Keep it on topic and focus on providing specific information or details about a service.

  5. Don't Underestimate the Value of Entertainment.
    • Writing good web content is a lot of work. But there isn't any reason why it shouldn't be entertaining, too. Plus, it helps your brand, be more likable, and strengthen the emotional ties your reader has with your content.
