What is an agent writing number?

An agent writing number is what most Insurance Carriers assign as a unique number to an Insurance agent for each appointment contract. We use this number to verify your appointment with carrier which ensures your eligibility into a sponsored program. If your sponsored plan is through an Insurance Marketing Organization (IMO), you may not get assigned a writing number. On the application, enter Not applicable if you do not have a writing number. We will use other information to verify your eligibility, or you may be subject to warranty your affiliation on the application itself. In those cases, eligibility will be verified at time of claim. Non-sponsored E&O plans do not require an agent writing number.
